Things That Happened in May:

May was a busy month for us!

* We started off the month with a trip to Beatrice, NE with Carla and Evan to visit Mara and Jon. We had so much fun! We all got to play, visited Lincoln, baked, and just had a general good time. It's so great to spend time with friends!!

* Unfortunately, while we were visiting, we got the news that my Babi was fading, so we went to Cedar Rapids to be with the family. Sadly, she passed away, but our whole family was together, which doesn't get to happen too often. A lot of us are who we are thanks to her, and I'm glad she got to meet Eric. I could tell how much she loved him and enjoyed being around him. I'll never forget watching her hold his hands and feet as he sat and snuggled with her. Her funeral was the following week, and she was honored.

* Eric went to his first wedding when my cousin Cole and his now wife Sally got married! It was a beautiful wedding and a happy experience for our family!!

* Eric had his first bath in JUST the infant tub without the little baby seat. He really enjoys splashing.

* We took Eric to Stone Park in the Loess Hills. It was a great day, and Eric loves being outside, so he had a lot of fun!

* We gave Eric his first solid food - rice cereal. He'd been watching us eat with a lot of interest for quite a while, so was REALLY excited to get to eat from a utensil like the rest of us. :-)

* Eric had his baptism and prairie introduction. We were so touched to have his "Aunt" Mara perform the baptism, (we'll always remember that important and unique part of his day), and having so many people who love him come to Pete and Maggie's for the reception afterward, and then out to the prairie was so special to us. He met his granddad "Eric the Elder" as he came to be called at his big, outreaching oak tree and people shared special words we'll always remember.
