Things That Happened In March:

We've had a great March! The weather has been FANTASTIC and Peter has been able to work a little less on the weekends, so we've been able to do more outside and together as a family.

* The battle to get Eric to eat real food is still on, though he's improved some. Just last week, he ate spaghetti for Peter and he ate chili and biscuits with us. He's making more an more attempts at trying things instead of just rejecting them without even a taste!

* Eric has gotten really good at many different animal sounds. I'm working on getting a video of it, but he usually gets too interested in the camera and won't do it. So far, he can do the following animals: cow, duck, dog, monkey, gorilla, owl, snake, horse, sheep/goat, cat, and there are probably others I'm forgetting!

* Eric is SO close to talking. His speech gets more and more regular in rhythm, tone, and clarity every day. He has and understands several words, and when he's "talking" to us, he's sure of what he's saying. He says several words now, but his three favorites are "car", "owl", and "BOSLEY"

* He's just starting to get the concept of singing along. We've been working on the ABC's. He doesn't really say them very well, yet, but he's really trying! It's cute. He dances along while I sing it and then when it's over, he claps, then starts "singing" it, too. "aahh, beee ssssccc" etc.

* On St. Patrick's Day we went downtown for the small parade they had. He was really bored waiting for it to start, but once the music floats went by, he was enthralled. He had fun sitting on Daddy's shoulders and watching the parade go by. Then, that afternoon, we went for a picnic at Adams and for a five mile hike around the perimeter. Eric did great, but it sure was warm! We saw snakes, birds, and even a herd of bison!

* Grandma Maggie came to visit for an overnight. Eric had so much fun playing with her! He never wanted her to leave the room. Daddy took that Friday afternoon off and came with us to Pecaut Nature Center for their animal meet and greet. Eric got to see and touch a corn snake, a salamander, and an ornate box turtle. He also got to see their kestral up close! Then we had snacks and went for a nice little nature hike. Eric walked almost the whole way!

* We went to catch the tail end of the Briar Cliff game one weekend. Eric LOVED hearing the baseball hit the glove and was watching what happened. I see a future in that for him and Peter. :-)

* Babi and Grandpa Brian came to visit. We went to Spirit Mound with them and walked up to the top and then played outside with the ball for a while. We went to get ice cream and then out to dinner that evening. Eric sure LOVES his grandparents! What a fun weekend!
